Overview

xG Predictor is a free-to-play football prediction game. Each week, players predict the Expected Goals (xG) scoreline for the headline fixture. Get the xG and score exactly right and you could win the £10,000 jackpot.

How to play

  • 1

    Enter a Round

    When a round opens, predict the xG score (e.g., 1.80-0.65) and predict the full-time score (e.g., 2-1). Submit your entry before the round locks.

  • 2

    Round Lock

    Predictions close at kick-off. After this point, you can no longer edit your entry. You can track live xG on the site.

  • 3

    Scoring

    Once the match ends, the official xG result is published. Your score is calculated based on your prediction accuracy. Leaderboards update automatically.

  • 4

    Winning the Jackpot

    You win the jackpot if your total xG prediction matches the official number to two decimal places, and you correctly predict the full-time score.

Scoring

Each round is scored out of 50 points, based on how accurately you predict both the match score and the xG values for each team. Points accumulate across the season and power the global leaderboard and any mini-leagues you join.

Scoreline Points (20 points total)

You earn 5 points for each of the following:

  • Correct match result (home/draw/away): +5
  • Correct home team goals: +5
  • Correct away team goals: +5
  • Correct exact score: +5

xG Precision Points (30 points total)

You predict the home xG and away xG to two decimal places. You earn points based on how close your prediction is to the official number:

  • Home xG Accuracy: Within 0.1 = 15 points, 0.2 = 14, 0.3 = 13, 0.4 = 12, and so on until 1.5 = 1 point.
  • Away xG Accuracy: Within 0.1 = 15 points, 0.2 = 14, 0.3 = 13, 0.4 = 12, and so on until 1.5 = 1 point.
Total weekly score = sum of all scoring components (0–50).

Scores reset weekly but accumulate for overall rankings.

Winning The Jackpot

Each round of xG Predictor comes with a £10,000 jackpot (unless otherwise stated). To win the jackpot, your prediction must match the exact final score (e.g., 2–1) and exact match xG for both teams (to two decimal places). Only predictions that match both criteria win the jackpot.

  • Eligibility

    Only users in UK & Ireland are eligible for the jackpot. Users outside these territories are ineligible to win prizes, but can still compete in the game and join leaderboards & mini leagues. One entry per user per round.

  • Multiple Winners

    If more than one player submits the exact same winning prediction, the jackpot is split equally between all winners. If nobody predicts both the correct score and exact xG, the jackpot is not won and a new £10,000 jackpot is available for the next round. Jackpots do not roll over.

  • When Are Winners Announced?

    Once the match ends and the official score and xG are confirmed. Jackpot winners (if any) are notified on-site and via email. Prize payouts follow our verification and payment process.
